The
Moore Free Care Clinic is pleased and excited to announce the
arrival of Mrs. Abigail Bivans, MMS, PA-C, as our new Clinic
Director/Physician Extender. Prior to joining us, she practiced
primary care as a Physician Assistant (PA) in Kinston and Goldsboro,
NC. Mrs. Bivans was born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, but she grew up in
Moore County. She served at the Moore Free Care Clinic as a
volunteer throughout 2007 to 2009. As a PA, nationally certified to
provide medical care by the National Commission on Certification of
Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed by the North Carolina

to return to the clinic to serve. Abigail earned her Masters in
Medical Science at Methodist University’s Physician Assistant
Program in Fayetteville, NC. She is very mission focused and joined
a delegation of local residents including MFCC employees on a
humanitarian mission to Peru in 2008, where she helped establish a
medical clinic outside of Lima, Peru. She has also participated in
mission trips to her native country, Bolivia. Prior to PA school,
she completed her undergraduate education at the University of North
Carolina in Chapel Hill with a Bachelors of Science degree in
Biology and Minor in Anthropology, and later received Certified
